Redeeming IHG Points

1. Free Nights (Best Value)

• Dynamic pricing: no fixed award chart

• Ranges from 5,000–120,000+ points per night

• Value is typically ~0.5–0.7 cents/point

• No blackout dates (if a standard room is for sale, you can book with points)

2. Fourth Night Free

• Cardholders (Premier/Traveler) get every 4th night free on award bookings

• Massive savings on longer stays

3. Points + Cash

• Mix cash with points to book award nights

• Good for flexibility or stretching your balance

4. IHG Experiences

• Use points for concerts, events, and curated experiences

5. Other Redemptions

• Gift cards, merchandise, airline miles — but usually poor value

• Points can be transferred to airline partners (10:2 ratio usually — not great)

IHG Elite Status Tiers

IHG offers 5 main elite tiers. You qualify based on nights, points, or card ownership.

Status via Credit Cards:

Premier Card = Platinum Elite

Traveler Card = Silver Elite
